Taisuke MURAKAMI

Lives and works in Aichi and Kyoto, Japan.
1969 born in Kyoto, Japan.

After pursuing media art research at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences(IAMAS) and obtaining a Master of Media Arts, he created “Contact Water”—a piece that applies Augmented Reality —at Mixed Reality Systems Laboratory Inc., a joint investment company of the Japan Key Technology Center and Canon Inc., and received the 5th Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Award. Thereafter, he researched media art and developmental disabilities in a doctoral course at the Kyoto City University of Arts, because of which, he created a device called the “Ear Ball for Empathy,” in which one can experience for themselves the auditory experience of developmental disabilities, and presented it at the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, etc. Currently, he is pursuing research that has media art and neurodiversity as its theme.
